Two for Teal Blog Hop

teal swap blog buttonWe did it! Heidi and I finished our mini quilts for the Two for Teal mini swap just in the knick of time. It was an incredible experience, and one that we will definitely be apart of again next year. As a group we were able to raise $2000 for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund!

Over the past month we’ve been able to see everyone’s projects as they received them from their swap partners. Its so fun to see the diversity in artistic expression. We only had two rules… 1.) a size limit of 18 x 18 if you were making a mini quilt, or 10 x 10 if you were making a mug rug; and 2.) Incorporate a piece of the teal fabric that was provided.  We decided a celebration of all the creativity in the form of a blog hop was in order so that you could see them too. So stay tuned for next week where we will share ours with you, and you can hop around to others as well and see what they came up with. So much teal deliciousness!

Mail Day

I love getting mail, especially when the mail includes fabric! I received a fat little envelope today with a lovely bit of teal fabric in it to start on the Teal Mini Swap project, it even matches my coffee cup! My envelope came with an additional surprise. All participants are paired up randomly with a swap partner, mine turned out to be my husbands aunt in Ohio! Mini quilts seem to be all the rage these days so the hard part isn’t coming up with a pattern, rather having to choose from so many amazing blocks out there. For those of you that have never participated in a swap before it is a great chance to explore your skills and meet other passionate quilters out there. It has been a  fun challenge to try and come up with a pattern that I think my swap partner will like and something that I will enjoy making.I am so excited to be part of this project and help fund such important work.

Happy Sewing
