Have you ever participated in a quilt swap, or craft swap of any kind? I have heard of them before but have never actually participated until now.
We got word of this awesome Two for Teal mini swap that is not only coordinated around my favorite color, it also supports a cause near and dear to both Heidi’s and my heart. Ten dollars out of every entry fee is going to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, which funds clinical research grants in understanding why ovarian cancer forms, how it acts, and how to better treat it. Sadly, we have both lost grandmothers to this disease because they were not diagnosed early enough. OCRF helps spread awareness about identifying symptoms of ovarian cancer so others can get help before it’s too late. We are so honored to participate and to help spread awareness for an incredible cause. Please check the OCRF link above to learn about early signs of ovarian cancer and share it with all the special women in your life. Through the mini swap we will be sent a piece of teal fabric that will be the primary focus of whatever we make. And we will be swapping pieces with a complete stranger. We have the choice of making a mini quilt (18″ max) or a mug rug (10″ max). I’m super excited to see what everyone comes up, but am so nervous about making something that these amazing quilters will like. I’ve got a few ideas on what to make, but you’ll have to stay tuned! We will keep you posted on our mini swap projects and their progress. They are due back to our swap partners by October 1st!
